Gallatin Road.

In Nashville the closest that Mike and I ever got to establishing our record label / audio production company was a series of recording sessions that Mike engineered for his bass mentor and all around musical whiz, Dan Eubanks.

Similar to any good musician who moves to Nashville, Eubanks was going to try and make it big as a songwriter. He recorded his demo at James Can't Jive's studio at 808 Fatherland (red dot) in East Nashville.

If I do say all his songs where rather good -- and they were a pleasure to watch Eubanks craft, track by track. Of the 808 Sessions, my favorite song was Gallatin Road... an ode to the clumsy and uggly Gallatin Road that sets the tone for much of East Nashville (the 70s, 80s, and 90s East Nashiville, that is). Gallatin is like many roads across the country, similar to those fast food / car dealing stretches in St. Charles, MO or Plano, TX. You can see it on the below image where it begins, as a green line.

Anyway, check out Dan's 'Gallatin Road' on the SoKT... and look forward to more work from the slowly awakening James Can't Jive Records.
